Welcome to my weekly update for June 25, 2012! It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.

Another busy week! I didn’t get much reading done, but I did get a few posts up.

Review: Ava’s Man by Rick Bragg–My first book by this author, but definitely not my last.

Review: Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie, read by Deanna Hurst–After overlooking one big issue with the audio (not the narrator), I loved this!

Review: Uglies by Scott Westerfeld–Dystopian novels are really not my thing.

Currently Reading:

The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers–A re-read for my book club. I can’t remember anything about it, but I’m not loving it this time around.

Memory & Dream by Charles de Lint–A re-read. This reminds me why I love de Lint’s work.

First Person America by Ann Banks–Extremely interesting first person accounts of life in America that were collected between 1938 and 1942.

The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making by Catherynne M. Valente, read by the author–Reminds me of the best classic children’s fantasy books.

Up Next:

I don’t think I’ll get to anything new this week.

What are you reading?

Other Posts You May Enjoy:

  1. I read The Girl Who… a while ago. I think it would be perfect for audio! I hope you enjoy the rest of it.

  2. I've been wanting to read UGLIES for a long time. I hope you get some reading done this week.

  3. I'm not into the whole dystopian thing either…which is why I haven't read The Hunger Games series.

    Have a great week!

  10. I'm not a big dystopian fan either, though I was okay with the Uglies series.

The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making sounds great. The title alone tells me that. =)

  11. I've read Uglies and Pretties but haven't gotten to Specials yet. The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland… is one of my favorite fantasies. I'm eagerly looking forward to reading the sequel.
