Um, nothing. Short lunches at work combined with a surprisingly busy (for me–the introvert) social life last week, meant that I didn’t get much reading done. But I had a good time and met some new friends!
The same as last week.
Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell–I admit it. I am loving this. You are all right; I’m kicking myself for not reading it earlier.
The Bookseller of Kabul by Åsne Seierstad, translated by Ingrid Christopherson–I like it. I’m mostly withholding judgement at this point. I will say that one chapter so far has been absolutely perfect.
Footsteps in the Dark by Georgette Heyer–Fun fluff. It’s easy to read while I sweat away on the elliptical machine.
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, read by Jim Dale–I have to say that I was sort of not really seeing what all the fuss is about. But things are starting to finally come together and make sense for me.
I might finish The Night Circus and The Bookseller of Kabul, so I’ll be looking for new audio and non-fiction picks. Right now, I’m thinking about Room by Emma Donoghue on audio and On Writing by Stephen King. Any opinions on either of these?
What do you think of the new look? I remodeled today as a way to avoid the baleful stares of the many, many, many books that are waiting to be reviewed.

Liked your review of Scones & Sensibility on Good Reads and thought I'd check out your blog. I struggled with The Night Circus myself but stuck it out. I liked it, but I didn't love it. It's so visual that I imagine it'd make a great movie, but as a book, not quite worth the hype. Was thinking of making this the year I finally tackle Gone With the Wind as well… anyway, happy reading!
I'm going to finally get to Gone With the Wind this year; no one can believe that I haven't read it yet. I really enjoyed The Night Circus; I think more for the originality and freshness than anything else.
I loved The Bookseller. I just bought another one by Åsne Seierstad for that reason ;). Enjoy it!
Night Circus had my attention for almost a month and I knew after I made the right decision not to read it. I do hope in the end you enjoy it enough not to regret reading it.
Lots of tempting books this week….I have Gone with the Wind waiting for a reread.

I've never read Gone With the Wind, but have it on my tbr list. I'm intrigued by The Bookseller of Kabul…will have to look into that one.

So much of interesting reads here! Room was not an easy book to read. I think it might be worse as an audio book. The tension may be killing…..
I'm anxious to see if you finish The Night Circus, and if so what you think. I've been wondering whether or not it is indeed worth all the fuss :).
As for Room, go for it! I loved that book so much. Didn't listen to the audio book, but I don't doubt that it's great!

I read Gone with the Wind back in 2003. My last semester beings on Wednesday. This is my last week of reading tons for a while. Please come see what I'm reading.

I was glad I read the Night Circus because of all the fuss – but to be honest, I've got to agree with you. It's good but not as amazing as people made it sound. Maybe it was high expectations? My reading group hated it, which made me sad 🙁 But, it's just an ok fiction title, nothing super spectacular. Maybe you'll like it better than me? Good luck this week!!
